After Dinner Speakers
Over the years Shereen reported on all the major stories affecting Scotland today: Piper Alpha, Lockerbie, Dunblane, as well as the opening of the new Scottish Parliament.
Her career has taken her to many of the world’s trouble-spots, reporting on the plight of the AIDS orphans in Romania, the first multi-racial elections in South Africa, the Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan post 9/11, the famine and AIDS pandemic in Zambia and Eritrea.
In addition to news she has also presented documentary series, hosted live debates, award ceremonies, and Election Specials.
Shereen left STV in May 2006 to go freelance.
Since then she has been working with BBC Radio Scotland presenting arts, news and current affairs, and phone-in programmes. She has her own Saturday morning radio show, “Shereen” which is a mixture of topical chat and interviews with prominent people in the news.
She also hosts corporate events and is a columnist for The Scottish Sun newspaper.
Shereen Nanjiani was the main presenter of STV’s 'Scotland Today' news programme for nearly twenty years and is still one the best known faces in broadcasting in Scotland.
She joined Scottish Television straight from university in 1983, having achieved an MA Honours in Philosophy at Glasgow, and began as a trainee journalist working her way up to be a reporter.
